My wifes 52 plate mondeo 1.8 LX keeps emptying its battery.

It had a new battery 2 and a half years ago from ford for the same thing just regular terminal discharges.

If I jump it it'll be fine for a while but then it'll happen again.

The car is 6 and a half years old and its just crossed 30k miles so as you can tell its mainly school run and not much else, is it likely its just not getting charged enough?

Also how long is the guarantee on batteries normally?

Do you reckon ford are likely to try and hit me for an alternator?

no its 6 and a half years old... in dog years ;)

if I go and stick the jump leads on it now it'll start then I run it down a junction of the m3 and back it'll be fine for weeks then without much warning it'll refuse to start/lazy windows/dim lights etc, the starter motor clicks etc just signifying its a dead battery.

ok no worries...

so, is doing literally 3 miles twice a day going to kill the battery and not give it time to recharge?

Is the battery knackered?

Is it likely in warranty? (the battery)

If the alternator was knackered would it discharge almost immediately? ie no work for 3 weeks?
