dying power supply

Hey everbody,

I have an Antec Truepower 430w power supply and its started making a really high pitched whinning noise all the time the only way to stop it is turn the power supply off on the switch. I can make the noise less loud by plugging in the tower in on a socket on its own but thats not practical as I only have a single socket by my pc and it doesnt solve the problem complety.

So I think i'm gunna have to get myself a new PSU im looking to spend about £55 on one as in the past i've had problems with cheap ones blowing up, and I dont want to take that risk.

I want somthing that is practically silent, any suggestions are welcome.

i've replaced a fair few antec true powers, so it could be the PSU. is it a fan whinning or an electronic whinning ?

do you know how much power (watts) at peak usage its drawing ?

its an electrical whinning, im not sure about my peak useage tho is there a way to find that out?
