dyn dns domain forwarding type stuff?

im registered with dyn dns with the name

gavmeister.ath.cx

if i use remote services and try and connect to the above it works fine.

but i try and use utorrents web ui and enter in

http://www.gavmeister.ath.cx:27359/gui/

nothing happens yet if i enter my ip direct it works.

http://86.8.249.105:27359/gui/

ive forwarded all the necessary ports as well.

it worked fine before i flash my buffalo router with tomato. So im guessing its a port forwarding problem or something related. Any ideas anyone?

Remove the www, so http://gavmeister.ath.cx:27359/gui/

Works for me, or at least I get the same "invalid request" printed on the page if I go via the domain name or the IP address. Unlike www.gavmeister.ath.cx which can't be found because it doesn't exist.

It asks me for username/password so it's working fine - it's probably your DNS server being a bit slow.

"gavmeister" would be so easy to childishly mock with just a replacement "y"...

Yup, likely a DNS server being slow to update, working fine now.

dns servers can take up 24 hours to update tbh

it would seem http://www.gavmeister.ath.cx:27359/gui/ doesnt work for most people on my msn but http://86.8.249.105:27359/gui/ does.

very odd.

if you ping gavmeister.ath.cx it reports the right ip

well rdp works on gavmeister but u torrent doesnt? funny the people i asked all seem to have been with bt and the connection i was on earlier is bt business

well the gavmeister.ath.cx web ui still wont work from my work pc which is on bt business. but does from the ip addy direct.
