Hi chaps,

Do any of you use a dynamic dns sort of solution to access your home networks? I don't have a static IP, although I can find it out easily enough even when out even when out and about - but it would be easier to just have an address to use instead of faffing about every time the address changes (all RDP/VPN addresses etc...)

Or are there alternative now days that are better?

No-IP http://www.noip.com/ works great mate, i have a dyndns setting in my router and as a test i restarted my router picked up a new IP and typed my no-ip domain name into the url and it came up straight away. Love this feature and really does help when i want to vpn into my 7800n router to surf the web securely while on the move :D

i use no-ip ,think i paid about £12 for 2yrs this time ,time before was only about £7 for 2 years , normal price is about $14 a year
but not all routers support no-ip

and you can get a raspberry pi to to follow the site so no-ip follows your ip

I just used the free option seems to work a treat. You can download there little app if your router doesnt support dyndns and it will update everything for you. Very lightweight by all accounts as well
