Thinking about picking up a dynamo hub prior to some upcoming night-time riding, as I'll want lights for longer than the 90 minutes I usually get from my batteries. Needs to be disc-brake (6bolt) specific, though I've seen center-lock to 6bolt adaptors. Thinking that this one will do the trick at the mo:

Has anyone on here got/used a dynamo hub? Any recommendations for a specific hub or lights?

Should keep you safe during the night ride?

I did quite a bit of research into this last year and that's exactly the hub I was looking at. Whilst it's not quite as good as the SONDelux, it is substantially cheaper. As I understand it they are a fairly new design so there isn't much info on longevity.

I go for months on AAAs before changing them

I currently have a Lezyne Macro Duo and a SolarStorm X2 with 4x18650's.

The X2 will last around 90 minutes and the Lezyne maybe 2 hours with both on their brightest.

What lights do you use that last months?

Yeah, the SONs are a bit over-budget tbh :p

I'd also love a SuperNova Plug, but it's pricey!

Months of riding, not months of use but still probably at least a day. This is my front light: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-240-L...EAD-LIGHT-TORCH-WITH-MOUNT-BLAK-/221446876634

Had the rear so long i can't remember what it is, think it's similar to the Blackburn Mars.

I used to ride with one of those lights and although they last for a while the light output is horrendous. They're just about okay for pootling around in the city during dusk but for a serious ride (such as the overnight ride uv is talking about) they are not sufficient.

Yup, I have one of those exact torches for nipping out to the freezer in the garage when it's dark. Absolutely useless for riding fast down an unknown country lane at midnight.

Not horrendous, usable in the dark i'd say if you really need to as long as you're not being blinded by other lights. But that's not really what you expect for the price. Spend a bit more and you could easily get an XML-T6 or U2, just look at the LED torch thread.
