I've got a 2011 S-Max Titanium X that's got a faulty sat nav. Taken it to Ford and they've quoted £3,850 for a replacement as it's not repairable.

I've noticed a Dynavin N6 http://www.dynavinstore.com/store/shop/ford-series/dynavin-n6-fd-black.html

With the SMax the heater/air con controls are all integrated so seriously limited on options.

Apparently the N6 is a complete swap out for what I have and only costs around £450.

I'm wondering if anyone has fitted one and what kind of things i might encounter. Also any feedback if it's any good?

they made all the heater controls only operable from the touch screen?

what a terrible design choice!

I notice its the same in newer citroens and peugeots? whats up with a good old fashioned twisty knob that doesnt cost nearly 4 grand when it fails?!

i nearly fell off my seat when I was told.

though i do now need a head unit that does the job and doesn't cost the earth.

that's the baby - yes. though i hated the sat nav.

quite tempted by the dynavin it looks pretty good and responsive.

I can't see how you would get around the issue of A) Not having any heater controls and B) having a whacking great gap at the bottom if you go with the Dynavin.

I'd be looking at OEM and secondhand personally.

apparently the heater controls stay where they are and remain operational. the information is fed back to the screen. There shouldn't be any gap "apparently"

I can't see how that would be possible if it is the same unit as in the ebay link. The Nav screen and heater controls are all one unit!
