Seems like my battery has died in my Dyson V6. Had it just over 2 years, so conveniently just out of warranty. Status LED flashes red on charge and if you try to use it.
I see there are plenty of replacements on Amazon etc, around £30.
Anyone had experience with changing theirs? I was expecting to have to buy the cells and re-solder them into the unit. But looks like you can get whole replacement units which just screw on. Wouldn't mind getting a higher capacity while I was at it. Any recommendations?

It looks simple to change on the video if you scroll down this link: https://www.dyson.co.uk/support/journey/tools/967810-21.html

Have you contacted Dyson to see what they say? 2 years seems a little short! I looked at replacements on dysons website when I first got my V10 and it had a price of £80 for a genuine one. Amazon has them for about £30 too so I think I would try one of those when mine goes.

Have you contacted Dyson? You might get a goodwill replacement if it's only just outside the guarantee period. They sell themselves as being great on customer service, so it's in their interests to go further than mandated.

I haven't contacted them yet. I know one of my Dyson's (i have a normal upright too) was from their outlet, which is only one year warranty. Will check it's not this one first.

I've had to do this on my Dyson a little while ago, purchased a replacement battery from Amazon (mine was a bit older than two years), it was really easy to do and made an massive difference.

I've ordered one from eBay. Bit cheaper than Amazon. Went for the largest capacity I could find. 4000MAh. Current one had 2100MAh. Hoping for a good boost in performance / run time.

My V6 battery went just outside of warranty too. Contacted Dyson and they sent me out a new one for free.
