Dyson Vacuum Cleaners

I will bet you a tenner that it’s the post motor filter.
dyson say that this filter does not have to be cleaned when in fact over time it gets blocked. And can not be washed as it use’s a pours material to do the filtering.

Ebay should get you one for about a £10 inc P+P

Surely the post filter won't have an effect on the suction? Afterall, the suction occurs between the motor and the end of the hose.

So if he buys it and it doesn't work, you'll give him his money back :p thats very kind of you sir!

Right post filter will make a difference as if the motor can’t get rid of the air as fast as it would normally.

Think of it like a pump if you put a 1inch hose on the inlet but only a ½hose on the out let it’s not being as efficient as if you had if you had a 1inch on the inlet and outlet.

It the same thing the filter can’t expel the clean air fast enough so it has to reduce suction to be able to cope.

Washing the filters seem to remove the anti-smell thingy, after drying our exhaust filter you could smell the dust after hoovering. Not a dyson though.

i used to repair vacuum cleaners but gave it up before dyson appeared.there are some basics that apply to repairing cylinder cleaners.
firstly, does the motor sound normal? if not then chances are its knackered if it does sound ok then the faults probably a blockage.might be a foreign body or a clogged filter.
there is also the possibility that there is a crack or parting of housings thats causing the machine to lose pressure.
regards the legal side of things the manufacturer will always use"wear and tear" to get out of anything.
