I am in need of a Dyson which is ideal for dealing with dog/cat hair and dust issues has anyone here used the DC21 or DC23l They both seem pretty good, but its a question of which one is more of the beast at cleaning

I recently bid for and purchased a second hand DC07 from usual place. Cost me £45. Got to say i'm very impressed, it's really helped with my dust allergy. Performs 100 x better than any vacuum i've used before. No doubt the latest models will be even better. I would highly recommend dyson.

We've had 2 Dysons and they were both pants (and not cheap either). They were fine for a few months but bits broke, suction wasn't as good and the dirt canisters would no longer sit in place properly.

After the first one died (15 months ish) my dad bought another one because 'they are British and well made'. I think that one lasted about 8 months and he now has a Henry.

They all come with a 5 year parts and labour warranty now.

If hes chosen a Henry, its not for the vacuuming.

Think that's the main concept of a hoover. :p
It may be, but we're talking about a Dyson. :p

I've still got my DC03 from way back when (must be about 10 years now). Still works fine. Admittedly it doesn't get used nearly as much as other households might use one, but I just don't bash the living daylights out of it and look after the cord when winding it up (the power cord strain relief on the DC03 has a well-known tendency to fail).

I've had a DC07 for about 5 years now. It started to go a bit wrong and Dyson have a policy where you call out their engineer and they arrive and fix it all for £50. That includes call out, labour and every part needed for the Dyson.
I basically had a newly rebuilt Dyson by the end of it. :D

We had a Dyson, never liked it. Ugly, noisy and quite frankly crap.

Henry, Miele or Vax for me in future. Just bought a Vax Mach 3 upright, it has a headlight! :D

Seems OK but a little over complicated. I wanted a Meile but her ladyship said they were too expensive and they didn'y have any Henry's in stock at the shop where it was absolutely imperative that we got a new vac there and then.
