E-bay scamming and the dispute process.

So I got scammed on e-bay for £500'ish for a MBP, I opened a dispute with paypal and it's coming to the point now where it says:

"What happens next

The seller has been asked to respond by 15 Sep 2011. As soon as we hear from the seller, or if 15 Sep 2011 passes with no response from the seller, we'll review this case and email you with an update."

So what will happen on the 15th? will they tell me that he's not got in contact with them and they'll issue me a refund or what?

This is so tedious.

If the seller does not respond to paypal by the given date then yes they will close the dispute in your favour and issue you a refund.

They will then make attempts to recover the funds from the seller themselves.

Usualy these cases are where someone has hijacked someone's account and "sold" something they do not nor ever did have in order to scam the money.

These are getting more common which is why I always pay via paypal even when using a credit card.

Yeah surprisingly you've just hit the nail on the head with that comment, the buyer told me that he has not used this account in months and that both his pay pal and e-bay account were hacked in his absence, he even offered to try and come up with some funds to refund me personally, but i took the high road and told him, that's not necessary, we'll sort it through pay pal, so both people win here and not the scammer v_v.

But sweet then, guess I just have to wait til tomorrow and then get my funds clear, I want to buy some new pc parts -_-.
