Looking at OScommerce but it doesnt look too great,too many sites use it imo. Is there anything out there thats just as good?

You can skin it, though even with the template systems it's really fiddly because it's such a dinosaur.

Cubecart is good - a few people on here use it for well over 50,000 products - others that come to mind are X-Cart (~$300 iirc) and Zencart (Free, a fork of Oscommerce) :)
