Hi guys

Looking to upgrade this E machine for a family member.Their son is complaining it can't play games.
I've found 2 gig of memory for around £34 (512 at present shared with on board graphics)

I'm not too sure about the graphic card though. What do you recommend.Budget about £100 for card I think. It might need a new psu for a new card though.Looked at the x1950 pro.

CPU: Intel® Pentium® D Processor 524 with Hyper-Threading Technology2
(3.06GHz, 533MHz FSB, 1MB L2 cache)
Chipset: ATI RC410
Memory: 512MB DDR2 (1 × 512MB)
Expandable to 2GB
Hard Drive: 120GB (7200rpm, 2MB cache)

Video: ATI Radeon® Xpress 200
Up to 128MB of shared video memory

PCI Express slot available for upgrade

PSU-Bestec ATX300

+12v 15Amps
+5v 30Amps
+3.3v 28Amps
-12v 0.8Amps
+5vsb 2Amps

Any help appreciated

cheers

Yowzers. You'll probably want a nicer power supply too.

Memory and graphics card upgrades should be fine, providing the PSU can handle it.

Something like the Corsair VX series?

EDIT: started typing that but went away, didn't copy off Billy :)

X1950 is an excellent choice for that price. After that it's £150+ for a 2900pro or a GTS320.

That'll play quite a lot of games also =)
