Hi Guys,

Wondering if you can help,

My friend at work is the PA of one of our managers our network is pretty old and we are on a MS Exchange server for email with Outlook 98. My friend is a deligate to the manager as an editor.

However what she wants to be able to do is move her emails into personal folders so its easier for her to navigate (her being the manager) of course personal folders are... personal and stored within the logged in account, is there a way around this or a solution.

Or is what i've said not clear?

True

PA = Nicola
Manager = Lynsey

Nicola wants to be able to organise Lynseys inbox, now personal folders obv cant be used as they each have a unique login to the Banks systems. However can Nicola have access to Lynseys inbox create folders etc... so she can organise them that way?

Nicola is a publishing editor for lynsey and can access the inbox and ive added it to outlook as a mailbox also but she cant view any folders within the inbox (if that makes sense)

i.e

+Inbox
- Meetings
- Travel

for example ^^

I think using exchange, you can have the mail delivered to your personal folders or your inbox. You just need to change in it the account settings.

I might be wrong though :)

Nope she can't - personal folders aren't stored server-side so they would not be accessible.

What is she trying to do with her folders that can't be done in the Exchange Mailbox? She can create subfolders and rules there..

In Exchange, you can grant users access to another user's mailbox.

So, on the manager's PC, you would right-click on the "Mailbox - Lynsey" (in the folder view) and then go to Properties -> Permissions, and you can then add other users from the domain. That will grant access to the user's whole mailbox. If it's only the "Inbox", then right-click on that specific folder.

Then on Nicola's PC, go to File -> Open -> Other User's Mailbox, and put in Lynsey's name, and Nicola will then be able to see Lynsey's mailbox or Inbox :)

That bits done but it doesnt show the folders within the inbox if that makes sense

Lynseys inbox shows other folders so she can sort her mail, Nicola needs to be able to do that for her

Nicola opens her inbox in the above way but see no folder structure

If that makes sense
