:mad:We are with E-on for our electricity,
Our monthly Direct debit is £127!

We use a fair bit but really and truely barely have anything runningin the house every switch is off when not being used just out of habbit not because were trying to save money.

We have the Tv on now and then mainly we just have the Laptop and main rig which are on maybe an hour a day at most lately which is barely anything elec wise. No heating house is well insulated.

Guess what?

They send me and my mom a mail today saying hello we would like to change your bill from £127 to £217 not based on our usage or anything of the like.

If it costs a 2 bed flat with 1 tv and a laptop and a rig which are the main electrical items in the house that draw the majority of electricity then how the hell can someone afford a proper house with a few tvs and what not.

Surely this cannot be right of them.

My mum knowsbetter about these things and shes dealing with it but....£217 a month they want to raise it to.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Yeah it makes no sense mum is goin to deal wit it tommorow she cant get through to them right now.

The worst thing is in the mail it says.

Its okay you dont have to worry we will debit the amount from your account automaticly....

How can people justifiy these kind of liviving costs for me and my mum who are barely in the house barely use any electricity busy bodies we are.

If it costs this much for us which CANT BE RIGHT then how can any of you guys with 2 or 3 computers and tvs and all sorts afford to live in a house.

E-on are prats.

Thats the thing guys they did read the metre but my usages is NOTHING compared some of what i hear on these forums.

We are not fussed about money its the fact they have the cheak to up the prices like this like its nothing.

These companies are so willing to screw us customers its ridiculous.

Looking at this bill estimate-

They estimate that we will use 8,242 kWh a year at a anual cost of £1,174.

They took the reading last month before sending us this ridiculous bill.

Even I know that annual estimate is Ridiculous....

We are goin to figure this out and move companies however this is disgusting i must say.

What do you guys suggest,
Take readings for a week and then calculate based on my daily and nightly usage compared to there per unit cost and the estimate for the whole year based on our average usage?

If it adds up to more or less then talk to them?

If i do that i will also read the mains i guess and find out if anything is drawing large amounts of elec.

We live in an apartment block which is managed by a private company which we rent from its a private residence.

We have lightsin the building on all day in the carpark and in the building i wonder if there is some weird way that is contributing to electricity costs.

Hmmm I have readins from our bills but there quite vague,

Can you ask specificly so i know exactly what to put give you guys so you can compare.

Im asking some friends on other tarrifs/companies with much higher usages to provide me there usage and price per unit etc so that i can compare once i figure out mine.

I will go check this information and post backin this thread with it all in about 20 minutes guys,

Ill post what I can,

Also yes the house is entirely electricity Boiler etc. We usualy only need to turn it on for 10 or 20 mins in the day to get enough water well not even everyday really.

Oh i turn the heater on for a bit ten turn it off theres three switches my mum always makes sure it is turned off so the heater isnt on all day etc.

Start day and end date wud that be ON the meter because i just read the rate one and two readings thought that would be enough.

Sorry Glaucas Disregard the 2 months prior readings this is the right readings.

Augusts reading was

24475
09947

And the readings from today which was the one with 64000 etc was right so tell me the difference to what you just calculated bro.

They are a few years old i checked our flat mates consumption which is far lower.

Also to the other guy the readings were read correct.

So the jump in electricity has to be erroneous because if anything our electricity usage has gone DOWN.

Also the reading on the meter right now i have not even told to eon yet..... i want to tell them the issue and that our usage has not incrased yet our metre reading has trippled.

Because if we gave them the reading they would probably raise our bill even further mums emailing them and going to call them clearly stateing there has tbe be a fault with the meter.

This.... see it All the time with flats and communal cupboards

To 100% confirm which meter is yours do a load test.... turn everything including the kettle on then go check the meter and see which ones mashing through the digits.. that'll eb your meter. Take a read tomorrow evening and we get an idea of your daily consumption then we'll be able to reverse calculate your true consumption/ yearly consumption. Chances are Eon will woe you some money if you've been paying such high DD

I was there with him last time.

Our meters are labled with the flat assocciated with them.

I wish i was growin something but unfortunately this is not the case.

Here is what we are doing, We are calling our landlord to inspect the electrical wireing of the house until he comes with the electrician we are going to turn everything off and moniter the meter while the house is using no electricity whatsoever.

On the other hand we will report to E-on that the meter readings are erroneous and have nearly trippled when our usage has not increased and we will need to have that inspected.

We have not given them the new reading of our meter yet as we dont want them to suddenly increase our bill to epic proportions we will talk to eon about it being faulty then give them the reading obviously.

we have spoken to our neighbers they are the same as us with there usage. Just the three of us on this floor.
