30l max without a permit. Up to 275l with one (and you're not allowed to pump). More than that requires a licence.

I was just about to post this :p There are some (fairly sensible) requirements as well for >30L.

However to add I'd imagine you'd be wanting to inform your insurance company if you're storing that much, and they may not be overly happy with that...

I would have thought that there are plenty of turbo charged cars will run some form of knock detection, anything that recommends super unleaded still has to be able to run on regular these days. Heck, Saab had knock prevention via boost control back in '83.
Yes loads of cars have knock sensors. But they will just retard timing if they detect knock as a safety measure.

Yet you can have a ton of lithium batteries sat on the driveway, likely right next to the gas mains inlet :p

The largest battery pack in a Tesla stores about the same amount of energy as 10ltrs of fuel and is located inside a massive metal box. It is also totally isolated when the drive circuits are switched off.

EDIT: Few videos of Tesla battery fires on YouTube which aren't inspiring if it does get compromised.

Not my Mrs' Corsa VXR :D The manual excludes states specifically 98+ min, 100 Reccomended. Perhaps they used one of these?

The government is going to love people doing highly flamable chemistry on their driveways, in full sun, due to a pointless legislation. Maybe they will realise it was a stupid idea.

Am wondering why two major petrol forecourts in Lincs are digging up their forecourts within a month of each other one on a bank holiday Friday evening off route (supermarket) and the other, on an arterial route, three weeks ago. The A17 one moved it's tank area (cheaper to move storage?) so it could be to do storage of new E10. No notice given and signage for petrol closure. So if there is huge disruption to tanks why when it coincides with E10. Is it to do with environmental damage limitation of a differing solvent?

Thank you for your input. Easy words but have only choice of those two garages for a vehicle not listed for E10 built in 2001. They are 15 miles away at £1.35 per gallon - 30 miles return. Plus three weeks ago they marked dispensers as E5. Best

Earlier today here in London noticed Shell have already forced E10 onto the motorist.

That is the only E5 95 RON they sell now otherwise you have to go for Shell V-Power Max 99 RON!

It’s mandatory from 1st sept. No fuel seller has ‘forced’ anything

But E10 is a solvent and E5 isn’t. What car do you have?
