As you can see above - Get a 2140 with Revision M0 and the difference will be nothing.so how much will this different stepping effect performance between a e2140 and a e2180 ?..
The only thing I can think of are:I didn't know some of the latest E2xx series have different steppings?
Steppings aside I never understood why people chose anything other than the E2140 myself? Thats the chip I went for and it clocked from 1600MHz to 3200MHz without to much fuss using these settings . . .

I will have to re-install it and try for more as the mobo and memory I am using is good for 450MHz no problem, so in theory that could be 3600MHz (8x450) from the little E2140.
I suppose the higher multi's of the other chips would be useful for someone with a bad overclocking chipset that struggled to hit high FSB's or perhaps they had really bad memory that couldn't reach 400MHz (DDR2-800) or higher.
If you have a good chipset and memory I think the E2140 is the one? If there is something I am missing please enlighten me!![]()
