Does anyone know what they are like? Would the engine alone be worth much because the car it self looks pretty scungy but the engine looks like its in top condition. Its a BMW 520 1970 something and has a M body kit on it. Would there be much worth scrapping from the car?

Some interesting reading for you mate, however, if you really want a "retro" BM 5 series, then the e28 5 is the one you should look for. Its a FAR better car than the e21.

Thanks for all the links. Im not really looking to get one. Its just my older brother has one and asked if i want to buy it from him. Im more interested in how much money i could get for taking the thing apart and selling the parts. So i want to know if the parts are worth very much because the engine looks better then most other engines ive seen.
I would keep it myself but the interier isnt something to be proud of.

Ok im confused. The manufacture stickers in the engin bay say its an E21 but its got the badging of a 520 (5 series) could this mean someone has messed around with the badging or am i missing something here?

Hmm, I've just woken upto this also*, the e21 is the Mk1 3 series, I think he means the e12 (which is what I was thinking of) which is effectively the Mk1 5 Series, the e28 the Mk2, e34 the Mk3, e39 the mk4 & e60 Mk5. :o

*Brain fart I think its called.... :o :D
