Hi,

Got an E2160 CPU at the moment, with an EVGA 650i ultra MB.
It's mounted with an Arctic Cooling Freezer and AS5 paste.
Been run in etc, used for a while.

I can't seem to get past 2.8ghz on the chip, despite different combinations of Voltages, FSB settings etc. I've also got an E2140 in the PC down the stairs at stock, I took that and installed it to see if I had any more luck.

Again, would only be stable at 2.8ghz.

The only thing I can think of is the multiplier settings.
Both have to be at 8x350mhz in order to boot. Even the E2160, which has a 9x multiplier as standard; I cannot use the 9x multi on the E2160.

Reckon it could be a chipset issue?

So if you set 9x300 that doesn't boot? What is your RAM multiplier set at? With the multiplier set at 9x what FSB can you get to?

With the multiplier set at 9x I can only get to ~2.4ghz. Even then it isn't particularly stable.

Got the FSB:RAM ration at 7:8. Haven't had a look at fiddling with the timings.

Reckon that could help?
