E2140 overclock problem - BIOS does nothing!

So I am trying to overclock an old e2140 chip. All my experience of overclocking has been with AMD but I figure it cant be that different.

I am using a Foxconn 45GM mobo which actually has a few overclocked presets built in.

The problem is that any changes I make to the core clock make no difference when I boot into windows. And when I go back to the BIOS again the settings are back to default. This only happens with the OC settings not with any other BIOS settings.

Very odd.

Any one got any suggestions?

Is there a good software overclocking application for these chips (like AMD overdrive)? I would prefer to do it with BIOS but it might be useful to check...

Any help would be amazing.

unless its a locked CPU ?? Have you checked the stepping out on google to see what comes up?

What about adding a bit of voltage ?

Silly question, but you are saving the settings you change? The E2140 should be a good clocking cpu. I have personally had one to 3.6Ghz prime stable.

Okay will try with a bit more voltage but you would have thought that at least the presets would work.

I think I am saving it! I am just pressing f10 and then Y in the same way as I save other BIOS settings. does that sound right or is there more to it?

Thanks for the help.
