Got me an E2140 as a temporary stop-gap until the price-cuts hit the top end CPUs, but thought that 1.6GHz was a little weedy, currently at:

ccpuz.php

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=217476

This is on an Abit IP35-PRO, with 2GB of OCZ PC8500 5-5-5-15, and currently on the stock intel aircooling HSF (will go vapo or possibly water when I upgrade CPU).

Wow, all off the stock cooler? If so get an aftermarket cooler and push further?

I'm stuck in 2 minds at the moment. Currently on 939 socket and single core, wondering whether to get an X2 or a cheap C2D setup... (Hmmmmzzz)

Stuff like this keeps on making want C2D, but I want best bang for buck (inc mobo)

Anyway, good work 100% overclock :D

Yeah, all off the stock cooler so far, I have a vapo sat here, but I'm waiting for a socket kit to arrive before I can use it :(

Dunno if it has anymore left in it, but we shall see :p

Currently benchmarks higher than a C2D X6800, so I think I got pretty good bang for my buck :D

nice clock but how stable is it? Have you ran 8 hours of orthos?

No, I haven't. I'm simply seeing what the ABSOLUTE maximum 1M SuperPi stable is, then when I've found that I will work on longetivity.

Give me till next weekend and I'll have the maximum 24hr Orthos stable clock for this chip :)

Currently my maximum 1M SuperPi run is at 3368MHz, but I'm having problems with my RAID array at this bus speed, CPU seems to still have more in it. :)

My 2140's at 3.2GHz [1.375VCore] and I think this is a really fantastic chip. I can't believe how far it's gone (also on stock cooler) and I havent even bothered trying to push it further (thyough voltage and temps suggest I could do easily). I'm also using the stock cooler and it's stable on Orthos for 24h. Amazing chips.

I was going to upgrade to a Q6600 when the price drops kick in but I think I'll keep this one for an HTPC and wait for Penryn!

Mines now backed off to 1.4v (for the orthos test) seems burning it in has done wonders :)

Vapo fitting kit should arrive soon, then i'll give this chip a thrashing :)

what are your temps like GT?

Mine are at about 50 idle and goes up to about 70-72 on TAT 100% LOAD, luckily it never goes above 67/68 on orthos load :)
With my ultra 120 extreme i had temps of 43-45 idle and 64-65 under full 100% TAT load

Orthos priority 9 small fft's gave temps up to 68c.

Got an e6600 now which is sat at 3.2ghz @ stock volts. 38c idle and 53c full 100% TAT load.

Those 2140/2160's do run darn hot!

I did get mine to 3.2ghz but it was running temps up to 73c which i wasn't happy with!

I pushed the volts on mine to 1.5v and the temps went all the way up to 78 on TAT load

Anyway I'm sat at 1.425 v as long as they dont go above 68 or even 70 on Orthos load I'm happy. This chip should keep me happy until after the intel price cuts where I might get me a E6600 :)

What thermal compound are you guys using, are you sure they are seated properly, and what ambient temps do you have?

Mine runs damn cold tbh, ambient is currently 26ºc, and idle (7-12% load) is at 29ºc
