Hi!

I have my E2160 running @ 3.2Ghz (9x356) and I get it max stable at 3240, it won't boot over that so I was wondering if it's a FSB wall so I thought. Ok let's try 8x400. It won't boot. So I thought, oh then it's probably a FSB wall but when I tried 8x356 and 7x356 it also wouldn't post. 9x356 is fine so isn't this a bit weird? Does anyone know why this happens?

My E2160 quite happly runs at the following
400*8 so 3200 orthos stable
410*8 so 3280 orthos stable
365*9 so 3285 orthos stable
370*9 so 3330 orthos stable
380*9 so 3420 not orthos stable, but runs 3dmark06 but too hot!

All with stock intel cooler !
It doesn't like more than 415 fsb as the temps rocket, but i haven't yet tweaked the NB voltages yet.

I could run mine at 388x9 1.3850v on an ip-35e but strangely it wouldnt accept some random fsb's even if they equate to a much smaller clock. Mine was sitting under a tuniq tower and I thought a nice cool, stable 3.5 on a e2160 was pretty good until the PSU killed my pc.

Tuniq Tower amd Mx-2 and no higher than 65c after 24 hour orthos

Funny thing is i can have my tuniq passive and only gain 1c lol

using coretemp/everest for temps.... cant get TAT to work :(

Thanks for the replies but basically you guys don't have any idea why I can run 9x356 but not 8x356 and 7x356? This seems pretty random to me :S And what is the the max of 356x4= 1424 like? Isn't this a bit low MAX FSB for a P35 chipset? :S Am I just having bad luck with this mobo/cpu?

Having a Scythe Infinity sitting on top btw...

I have read somewhere that some Asus p35 mobos have a ram hole in between 700-830mhz ! on a product review for the E2160 on ocuk i think. So it could be a memory issue.

Whats speed is your mem running at ? and have you tried it with 1 stick plugged in ?

Also try running you mem at 5.5.5.15
