Hi,
I'm upgrading my server cpu from an e2160 that runs at 1.8ghz to an e3500 which runs at 2.7ghz. I ordered it due to the under £30 price and the fact my e2160 is a few years old now and my server is seeming a bit underpowered of late.
Do you think this will make a difference or have i aimed to low for this upgrade?
I have read different views on google but surely going from 1.8ghz to 2.7ghz will see an impressive performance boost?

Thanks

you'll see a performance boost, but whether it is worthwhile depends entirely on what you are doing with the system in question?

It serves video and music around the house to 3 other pc's and also some light video encoding. Also looking at fitting a dual tuner to serve tv to another htpc over the network.
