i currently have a E2160 running on a Asrock 775i65g board which is the one that has the AGP slot on it.
As i`m currently still using my 7800gs for gaming.
I have managed to overclock the E2160 from 1.6 to 2.2 with Fsb running at 275,if i go any higher it`s not stable.
Would i see any major difference buying the E2180 which runs at 2ghz and overclock it to the same fsb as i`ve got the E2160 running at.
Also what cpu speed would the E2180 be running at with a fsb of 275.
My ram is the basic ddr 400(pc3200)
thanks
Steve

A massive thanks for all the replies i do appreciate your help guys
I understand what you mean about the board, basically it`s not the best o/cer in the world!!
I had to buy it though as i`m still on AGP,i can`t realy afford to fork out for another new board, ram and also a new card, partner wil go mad.
Are there any other boards that will o/c better than my Asrock, but they will still need to have AGP,or am i just going to be better off saving up a few hundred for new board, ram, and card.
again thanks for your help
Steve

Basicly your ram is already overclocked to 550 Mhz, what not bad is for DDR 400 ram. In order to get a higher speed out of your E2160 you should go for a mainboard with the intel 865 chipset, they both support AGP and core 2 duo like de asus P5PE-VM, only problem is where to get one, perhaps 2nd hand so that you can get DDR 2 ram 533 meaning you'll be able to get to 3 GHZ without problems.
Cheapest is to sell the E2160 and go for the E2180

I think i have found one of these on a auction site,is it the same one
Thanks
Steve

they seem to be going for up to £30.00 second hand
