Been looking around and well i'm probably gonna buy a E2180 untill penryn comes out and becomes cheap. Anyway, i was surfing for info and some places were refering to it with the word "Pentium" as part of it's name. WTF is with this?! If i get this and over clock to 3ghz, will it be as good as an E6600, or is it a pentium in disguise

I think Intel went with Pentium name again, as people will likely remember them from the days of old. A 2180 @ 3GHz would only be slightly slower than an E6600 @ 3GHz but only due to it having less cache. It's not horribly slow like a P4 or something equally naff.

Cheers thats what i was looking for, wanted to make sure is physically wasn't a pentium. Bit off putting calling a new processor by the name given to older cpu :S
