they are really easy to get up and past 3 Ghz. and 4.5Ghz?? Is he phase changing it or something? lol Oh btw weescott have you got yours underwater or is that on air? I've got a bit of leeway with my temps at the moment but I'm not sure if it's work clocking it any higher

Guy how easy is this chip to overclock and Please post your settings with screenies please thanks :D

My 2180 hit 3GHz without touching voltage and with low temps. I've got to 3.4GHz so far at 1.5V in BIOS with temps at 35 idle and up to 78 in Orthos. For normal use this is fine but I'm going to replace the fan in my Tuniq Tower and apply some Arctic Silver 5 which should lower the temps some, and then try for a higher overclock (trying both FSB and multiplier combinations, and tweaking some other mobo settings also). The highest air-cooled speeds I've seen in forums were 3.8 GHz but the temps were nasty!

MY 2180 + ABIT IP35 geil ram (the weekly offer) comming tomorrow can you give me the quick low down on oc it . i have been a amd OC'er for a while. oh got a artic freezer comming might get better cooler in future

whats the defaut vcore?
max safe vcore?

i take it to get to 3.0ghz its 300fsb * 10 what sort of vcore?

or 400fsb * 8 multi = 3.2 what sort of vcore

what ram dividers are they laid out like 100mhz,133,266,333,400?

can you give me example of an OC with that board and chip what other bios settings do i need to be aware of

many thanks

i believe default vcore is 1.325v and max safe most people safe is 1.5v (i've read it somewhere)

u should hit 3ghz with 1.325v or 1.345v quite easily

lol *is very jealous* would you mind me asking how much that phase setup cost you? I've got mine on a £15 air cooler at the moment lol and I was just curious as to how much a decent phase setup would set me back

lol so over 400 quid extra for another possibly one gigahert. You know what.. i don't think I'm hardcore enough for that... :D

Mind you, it would turn my pc case into a temporary place to put my cans in :)

What do you use to check the temps in Vista - tried coretemp but it doesnt seem reliable!

Coretemp is showing 32/51 - 32/51
Everest Home edition - 36 and no change (only one core)

running a E2180 on a DFI LP UT ICFX-3200-T2R
