E2180 Thread !

ok, not the normal E2180 thread but,

Currently running a toledo based socket 939 x2 on a A8n 32x with Zalman9500 and 2gb of Cosair XMS 3200 DDr, have only be succesful in clocking it to 2,4 before it becomes orthos unstable, which I imagine is more the memory as temps are fine, but hey, not to dwell.

Buying a E2180 with Abit-IP35, and an arctic Freezer pro 7 with 2gb of geil 6400 ULL mem, and seeing if I can clock this mother to 3ghz at least, all well and good.

The real question is, if It doest work out, ive basically wasted just £60 right? as I can easily throw a Q6600 or even a penryn in that board? am I right in this assumption?

Yes you can just sell the E2180 on and get a q6600 or penryn for that mobo. I'd find it hard to believe if it doesn't make 3Ghz though.

Mine went to 2.8 no probs. Only me stopping it going any further.

I just installed one of these and running it at 3.2Ghz with stock HSF @ 1.4v, so can't see you having any problems reaching 3Ghz with a freezer 7! Though I have read this is better.
