Hey there,

I saw E2200's pop-up on the price lists of shops here in The Netherlands, only like 2/3 pounds more expensive then the E2180.
So I found out it has a 11x multiplier (2200/200=11). Can't this be a very very good clocker? I used the search function and found only two topic which SLIGHTLY mentioned the chip. Anyone got experience with them?

sSpec Number:SLA8X

Hard to say, what with them being so new but it would be the first Core2 CPU that was a poor overclocker if it is doesn't do at least 3Ghz on the right motherboard!!

I've got an E2140 1.6Ghz M0 stepping, and that overclocks no problem up to 3.2Ghz with just 1.3v, and it runs very cool as well.

With the E2200 on the same stepping, I'd have thought it should clock just as well as the current E2*** series to be honest.

Yeah well that's what I thought but I was a bit surprised I didn't find more on this CPU on this forum as this could be a (very) nice cpu for overclockers with its 11x multi? :)

Doubt it will be any better of a clocker, you'll just have more multi's to play with. It would allow you to run a lower FSB to get the same clock speed as a lower multi CPU. But personally I can't see why you would need more than 10x on the E2180 when even the midrange motherboards can do over 350FSB. RAM isn't exactly expensive at the moment, 2GB of 800mhz for £30!

As St0rmer66 said, it would allow you a bit more flexibility, but that is it. If it is only a few quid more, I would, but not if it was anymore than that.
