The above is a photoshop, its got me wondering, do any such examples exist?

No! I mean, an actual rather than photoshopped e30 touring 3 Door - No Tourings were 3 Door. Iirc.
I'm Googling but not found anything yet.

I've never read or heard of a 3 door M3 touring, certainly not from BMW themselves.
I guess the closest I've seen is a 5 door touring that someone had dropped an E34 M5 engine into.

There is a E60 M5 Touring now, which is a first. I have not come across a 3 M3 Touring before.

Yeah, I think it was considered but panned when the coupe and cabrio versions were deemed to be enough. BMW seem to have made a few one off M3s - there's a single e39 M5 touring floating about as well as an e36 compact M3.

Like nick ays, I saw a black one cited as a prototype. My google-fu is failing me though

E30 M3 Touring is on the list for when I win the lottery...

There is at least 1 over on the E30zone - havent been over there since I scrapped my 2 - but the pictures do exisit (E30 3 door tourer...not the M3 version!)

Yeah, it's a totally lame photo - absolutely mint other than the grubby wheels irl though. The modern BBS' work well with it.

There's a guy on passionford with a cossie lump dropped into an E30 tourer. Only 280 ish bhp, but probably a hoot to drive.

There was also a geezer on there recently that had a truly mint E30 m3 cietto (some special edition) which has taken a hefty smack from a drunken clown of a driver. Of all the things to crash into.....!
