i presume this doesnt breach the rules as i am giving these away

just been clearing out some of my stuff in the flat and found a box containing the original suspension from my E39 M5.

i know there are some people running E39's on here and i dont know if its a straight swap or not, but figured someone may want these rather than me chucking them away.

Sachs dampers and springs. approx 18k miles use from a 2002 car. cant tell you if they are 100% complete or not, but they are free so you cant complain!

collection from nr. Canary Wharf, London. sooner the better!:)

they are already boxed.

just let me know asap as i am on a tidy up mission currently and getting rid of old crap.:)

I'd take them regardless but what I dont want to do is deprive somebody with an M5 of your generosity if they wont fit my car :)

Will find out if they fit, and if they do, can arrange collection for Thurs or so? Got MSN?

Some interesting facts on this page fox!

"M5 suspension components on non-M5 E39s doesn't seem to be a popular choice. The M5 weighs slightly more than a 540 so the best you get is sport or slightly-higher ride height. Handling will improve, but for the same cost, quality aftermarket parts could be a better and longer-lasting option."

However, for free, who cares :D

But seeing as its free stuff, all gravy baby ;)

I suspect the only two ways to find that out would be to try it, or speak to a BMW mechanic/parts rep who knows the parts well?!

What is the weight difference though??

Its not likely to be a huge amount is it, i really dont think its going to make a noticable difference in ride height really.

They wont fit. Well, they will but the front of your car will look like an X5 due to the pre loaded mass differences at the front of the car.

You'd have to definately alter the front springs, not sure about the rears
