Hi all,
I'm debating getting myself some new kit, currently in the form of:
Gigabyte DS3
Core2Duo E6300
2GB Crucial Ballistix PC5300
All for under £400![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/smile.gif)
The thought that occurred is... I know that E4300's are considered good for overclocking, but not being ultra tech savvy, I don't know how much so. Is it pretty much an accepted fact that they will overclock to a 266 bus? If so, what's the typical voltage increase, and does it need a better-than-stock cooler?
Of course if it happens that they can in fact always take a 333, that would be no bad thing either, but for some reason 2.4 appeals to me as a nice 'casual' overclock and has nothing whatsoever to do with my friend's E6600![Wink ;) ;)](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/wink.gif)
Secondary question which I just thought of: does overclocking cause problems for speedstep? Not really fussed, just be nice to know what to expect![Smile :) :)](/styles/default/xenforo/vbSmilies/Normal/smile.gif)
Thanks!
