Just wondering which is the best option as i have rad a dew reviews and one place said *** 4300 and a another the 4400.Any opinions ??
Any 1 know if ocuk will be getting more 4300 in stock as they dont seem to be in the cpu section any more

i think the 4300 is discontinued. the difference between the e4400 and the e4500 is the e4500 is always the m0 stepping of the allendale because it came out when the e6850 etc did, and it has an 11x multiplier and the e4400 has a 10x multiplier.

The 4300 is a cracking chip and is still available from loads of retailers. BUT.........................You can get a 4400 for the same price or cheaper than a 4300 and that was even with the same retailers.

Which is best in your motherboard may depend on how much choice you have for overclocking. If you can step up very gradually pick the chips with higher multiplies and stop overclocking when you reach your practial limit. If you have to take a single big step say from 800 fsb to 1066, the lower speed chips are more likley to get there .
