I've noticed in CPU-z the cpu keeps changing from 1.8ghz to 1.2ghz, i know speedstep does this but I've disabled it in the bios and it still does it, any ideas why it is still doing it?

Is there an EIST or C1E option?
If i remember right i seen an C1E option but i can't remember what it was set to.

I've also searched the forum, the vcore could be set to auto, can that cause it?

Disable C1E if it's in there.

Auto will only adjust the vcore if you adjust the FSB.

I'll give it a try and see if it stops it, i'm sure it was disabled but it could have been enabled.

Which mobo?
Evga 650i ultra. I've got it sorted now, it was C1E.

Was also wondering what i should go by for CPU temps? Core temps and Nvidia control panel say 32 but TAT is saying 42.

I'm surprised that TAT even worked on your mobo?

Thought it doesn't support nvidia chipset, well it doesn't work on P5N-E anyway.
Well i've had no problems with it, which would be best to go by? TAT, Core temp or Nvidia control panel.

You using the most upto date Coretemp?

Yes, also Speedfan 4.32 says about same as Coretemp and Nvidia control panel... so only TAT that is quite high.

We're just trying the CPU @ 3.2GHZ / ram 3-3-3-12. and graphics at 630/800. Tried testing it a bit and seems to run good and stable.

Playing CSS on it like that seems fine, gonna stress test it properly later.

TAT misreports for my E4300 but it's more sensitive to temperture rise and throttling so I use it anyway. I compared it to BIOS readings for idel temps.
