Im thinking about going for a Q6600 as I've got a bit of spare cash to replace E4300 in spec in sig. Will I have any problems with my ram, motherboard, psu with the Q6600?

Planning on overclocking aswell as far as I can take it!

Cheers

Most of it should be fine but i am not sure about the psu. 450w is not a lot for your rig, especially once you go clocking that quad. It is a good quality psu though so you may be ok. Maybe someone else could comment on it.

I think you will definately need a new psu, 450W will probably not cut it with a quad core, let alone an overclocked one. Maybe something like a 620W corsair, that would be more than enough power.

id refer you to the link of the overhyped power thread in the graphics card forum. it will be fine i think.

ive got an antec trio 550 watt, got an 8800 gts 640 mb overclocked a lot, Q6600 overclocked to 3ghz, 4 sticks of ddr2 ram at 2.1v, 3 HDDs, plenty of fans and preipherals, and it barely uses 350-400 watts at full load.

just make sure it has the amps, and the wattage will mean nothing (to an extent)
