hi all,

just being reading some reviews and opinions on the net but cannot quite fathom the difference between the two processors. Which is better and which is the one to buy even though the E4300 isnt out yet but will be when I put my order in for the build I posted on this forum earlier so want to know if its worth the wait?

thanks :)

It was recommended to me on here to get a Gigabyte DS3/4 or S3 motherboard and the OCZ PC-6400 1GB RAM. Would this be sufficient for a decent-ish overclock. I don't plan to go mad on the overclock by the way lol, if it goes to anything near 2.5GHz from 1.86GHz I will be more than happy I think :D

also sorry for sounding a bit thick but when's the end of this quarter? :p

I've just seen OCs CPU page and the E6300 has gone up in price to £129 and the E4300 is £117 on pre order

I'm going to buy components beginning of February so shall wait and see what is out by then. Hopefully the E6320 and possibly more of the E4xxx range.

By the way does the Gigabyte DS3 Mobo do overclocking well i.e. can it handle the high FSB speeds without getting fried?

:D thanks for that. all the help i have gotten on this forum has been second to none and just absolutely top.

thanks to everyone on this forum!!

will wait then to see whats what and then post a final spec something along the lines of Core2Duo, DS3, 7700GT, OCZ or Ultra Geil 1GB RAM, Akasa fan controller, thermaltake case (decided to go OcUK for everything), Sony DVDRW, Logitech Optical Keyboard/Mouse, 420W PSU, OCUK Widescreen 17" LCD.

that article is a very good read and is tempting me big time to get a E4300. They managed to get 3.4Ghz for a 1.86GHz. thats almost double!

yeah i did give as thought to a decent heatsink and fan solution. the arctic freezer pro seems to be a good choice from what I can tell. Many people seem to have it so must be good...

Getting a fan controller also so will be good to have two sources of temperature readings one being software related and the other hardware related. Will also allow me to adjust fan rpm which should be useful, I hope lol

thats an amazing overclock! i'd like to know more about these benchmark things peopel on here are going on about. What is their purpose and how do they aid overclocking? What do they do? From what I can see its some sort of test to see how well your CPU is working and its stability... sorry if this is a totally n00b style question, but I am a n00b to most of this :p
