Is the extra 1MB cache per core worth the extra £20 here? :) Looking at C2D on a budget but dont mind spending a tiny bit more if its worth it. Will likely be clocking mildly.

The 4500 should be about 5-10% faster overall but for games it probably going to be 10-15% faster. The other option is to look at the E2160 to E2180 as with a good motherboard they will overclock as much as the E2200 and will save you another £10.
 
If you got a extra few quid, i'd get the e4*** series. I unfortunately have a nagging wife who didn't understand why I wanted the extra cache, so I went with the e2160 as opposed to the e4400 (the 4500 wasn't around then)
 
I have my E4500 @ 3.25. Im sure its got more in it. But Im a crap Overclocker.

I read guides, but Im lazy and 3.25 will do for me, for now. :)
