E46 Standard Speaker Sizes?

Just a quickie, I'm probably switching to a 330d over the course of the summer (goddamn 30K+ milage

), but was literally about to order speakers/amp for the Leon

However if they are a different size, i'll live with it for now. So great OcUK e46 loving massive, what are the standard speaker sizes?

Most people I've seen have fitted 13cm (5 1/4 inch) speakers, with adapters.

Gah, i'll have to hold off ordering speakers then

(16.5cm-17cm in the Leon).

You *might* get away with that size, as the OEM BMW ones are about that. However the biggest problem is that the OEM ones have three mounting holes rather than 4 so you'd have to think about mounting it. Thats the reason everyone else uses these adapter plates and slightly smaller speakers.

I've started looking at Cupra Rs again, after the BMW thing fell through.

The standard speakers aren't *that* bad. I've replaced my rears with some 13cm coaxials though. Standard amp (in the HU) is rubbish though, and the whole system lacks bass.

What you need is a high level amp and a high level sub to sort the sound out.

Will you use an aftermarket HU?
