Hello everybody, I’m from Italy and I have a sufficient experience with computer builds, but I’m totally newbie in overclocking.
I had the chance to buy an Asus P9X79 board with some damages, easily self repaired, so I added an Intel E5-1650 v2 and 16GB RAM G.SKILL 4x4GB F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL DDR3.
The system works very good, and the ram uses XMP@1866.
I installed a Noctua air cpu cooler model NH-U14S (1 fan).
I would like to try to overclock the cpu a bit, so I’m asking if someone already did it with a system like mine.
Can someone give me some hints?
Thank you

I would shoot him a DM. Looks like he is using nothing more than IETU for tuning

There are several videos on YouTube related to overclocking the 1650 V2 and 1680 V2 - generally they are fairly easy to overclock, as long as the motherboard is reasonably capable, as the silicon has quite a bit of overhead.

I can't really give much specific advice but 4.4GHz all core ( https://valid.x86.fr/u28wd2 ) on my setup with the 1650 V2 was trivial to get at 1.272 - 4.7GHz is doable at 1.3 on mine but my cooling isn't really up to it with the 3070 venting into the CPU area and I've not been motivated enough to change my CPU cooling.

Good shout!
