E5200 based PC as a host for 64 bit VMs

I have moved a 64bit Windows 2008 server VM from an AMD TK-55 laptop to an E5200 based PC - the VM reboots after the 'Loading Windows Files' progress bar completes and repeats this constantly ..

Is this an issue with the processor? I hope not as I just got rid of my C2D 6320 chip that I know works fine with the VMs

Do you need to have a CPU that has virtulisation? Not sure the E5200 has it.

my origional e5200 doesn't have it, not sure if the newer versions do.
