Got the above setup +OCZ Vanquisher heatsink.

Any tips to get great overclocks? Ive only got bog standard PC6400 RAM so have to use dividers.

So far got it to 3.5 gig (which has been prime stable so far for 40 mins) at 1.3ish volts (1.264 in cpuid) and its sitting at 58 - 60degs while priming.

You don't really need to use the dividers much as the FSB will be low, im currently runnin 12.5x328 for 4.1Ghz but thats with about 1.45v which tips out at 70'. What i tend to do is run LinX 5 times using 1/2 of your ram for basic stability if you are going for a high overclock and once i have reached an overclock that hits 70' and passes i then move onto longer testing.

I prefer to keep the multiplier at 12.5 so that every 8mhz is equal to 100mhz and it also keeps the fsb low.

Whats a safe CPU voltage on air? Im building this PC for a friend whos going to use it for working at home for CAD and other stuff - I need it fast and reliable!

Its prime stable at 3.5ghz at 1.318v RAM at 840mhz temps around 58degs

Just tried 4ghz at 1.4 - it will boot into windows but fails prime soon after starting - same happens at 1.45 so 4ghz is a step too far :(

I don't see a reason why you would want to go higher than 3.5 unless like me you feel that having a high 24/7 overclock is an achievement. You could keep knocking up the fsb by around 2 or 4 a time and then priming for 30 mins and repeating until you reach a nice stable number.

Im going back to 3.5 for now as I can keep the ram speed high - It should be fast enough for my friend :) Im just trying to see how far I can lower the volts - 1.3.1875 was a stab in the dark.
