Is there much difference between the Pentium Dual Core E5200 and E5300?

I have read that people are getting amazing clock speeds with the E5200 but wondered whether it'd be similar with the E5300.

Depends on the cpu itself and the other hardware. Some ppl here are getting around 3.6ghz out of the e5200 cpus, but theres a lot who are only getting around 3.2ghz-3.4ghz (still a nice overclock btw). I also remember seeing a screenie of an e5200 at around 4ghz but that is a rarity I think. I also reckon some ppl are shoving more than 1.45v vcore into their cpus to get the high clocks, and this is deffo not recommended as electron migration starts to occur and the overclock stability starts to degrade.
A member here called "pastymuncher" did a real good test of the e5200 against other cpus and the results are pretty conclusive, do a search and have a read, deffo worthwhile.

Personally i would get the e5300, as it is only£1 more for a slightly higher multiplier which makes overclocking easier especially if you have a MB that is significantly FSB limited or ram that doesnt overclock well.

:D:D:D As if by magic here it is. Loads of good info in there that others have added too.

Personally for the sake of a quid, get the E5300. Higher multiplier and a slightly higher clockspeed. If nothing else, the extra 0.5x multiplier will get you a little further when clocking.

I got the 5300 as my mobo dosent like half multipliers.

Also, the 5200 dosent have virtualization where the 5300 does ( i think )

Thanks for the comments guys. I ended up going for the 5200 instead as I found it elsewhere for £45 with free delivery.
