hi guys about to pull the trigger on some parts

i currently have

e5200 cpu

be quiet 650w psu

xigmatek s1823

antec three hundred

And was thinking bout buying these parts

asus p5q-e motherboard

4gb corsair ddr2 1066 mhz ram

gtx 275 gpu

plus a harddrive and optical drive

can anyone guide me as to whether an overclocked e5200 cpu would be suitable for a gtx 275 ?

and also if u have any suggestions on any better parts that i could get for around £400 ?

any help would be much appreicated

cheers

The e5200 is a good choice imo because it's very fast when oveclocked and will complement that gpu for sure. Go for it I say. Not a lot of point in buying a massively high end 775 chip cause they are slowly being phased out.

Buy now, nice pc btw. :o

The P5Q-E is an excellent motherboard, as well as an excellent overclocking motherboard.

The GTX 275 will be suitable combined with the E5200

As to the memory it would be also worth considering the OCZ Blade Series 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-9200C5 Low Voltage Dual Channel (OCZ2B1150LV4GK) £57.99 inc VAT. Head room for overclocking if required 1150MHz DDR2

I presume the corsair you have mentioned/ referred to in your thread is Corsair XMS2 4GB? (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX Dual Channel (TWIN2X4096-8500C5) £55.99 inc VAT

1066MHz

As to your hard drive enquiry what type of storage is the drives required for ie films, gaming, ect. Are you considering running a raid 0, 1 set up? Do you require one drive for OS and one drive for storage? If you can provide further information members will be able to provide further suggestions/ input.

As a suggestion HD: Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (WD10EADS)
