E5200, pentium or core2duo?

Just a quick question, it's been bugging me for weeks.

The E5200, I know it's essentially a core2duo but is it branded as both a pentium and a core2duo?

Alternatively is it just branded as a pentium, but people call it a core2duo because it technically is and to reduce confusion?
 
Its branded as a "Pentium Dual-Core", but the technology within the chip is a Core 2 Duo as it is basically a stripped down version of the E7000 and E8000 series. The E5000 series is basically the 45nm version of the 65nm E2000 series, just like this is a slower version of the E4000/E6000.

65nm - 45nm
E2000 - E5000
E4000 - E7000
E6000 - E8000

A quick poll of Ebay was interesting. A couple were calling it a core2, and a third or so putting pentium in the title. However most were calling it an "Intel dual core E5200".

Which is what I would do. You really dont want people confusing it with a Pentium D.
 
You can't go by what they sell them as on the bay as they label them up as C2D's to get people confused and pay more. I have to admit though that it is difficult to list them as you really don't want people to think that they are the inferior Pentium D cpu's.

They are actually Intel Pentium Dual Core cpu's and are basically a cut down 45nm Wolfdale core with only 2mb of cache. They are far superior to the E2000 series Pentium dual cores though which were a cut down Allendale core with only 1mb of cache..
