Looking to get one to replace my rubbish 2.8ghz PentiumD while im waiting till i can afford an i7 build.

Not sure if ill be able to overclock it because my board wont let me touch anything with the current processor so i dont know if that will change by changing processors or whether the board itself is locked.

Was just wondering if anyone else has one and how they perform games wise at stock and overclocked if i can do it.

Got an HD4830 at the minute so thatl do ok alongside it.

What are peoples experiences with this chip?
What numbers have you pushed by overclocking?

In short they're great - i have one and it's at a modest clock of 3.2Ghz at stock voltages. I expect to get at least another 0.4Ghz out of it.

Read this thread for other examples and this thread for a comprehensive review and comparisons.

I think Plecs post pretty much covers it, I think its a great chip as well, running mine at 3.6Ghz no problems.

If you can clock it then it's a brilliant chip. I've had mine at 4GHz Prime stable, which is more than enough for anything.

Well I've just bitten the bullet and ordered an E5200 to replace my E2180.

I'm hoping to get 3.5 GHz out of it - I'll let you know how I get on.
