Hi Guyz,

Just got my E5200, Installed on my Asus P5K-VM. Working Fine.

But one thing i have noticed that Cpu Temperature and Core temperature is still.

Cores at 38c. CPU temp at 35c.

Even when i run some stress tool, temp remains same. Even in BIOS , its Still.

How other Temps. like MB and HDD are workin fine.

Please Help, Wats the reason for this.

Best Regards.

Stuck sensors, my E8600 has the same when at stock, since overclocking I get around 12c movement.

Don't think so as it does not effect the operation of the cpu. It will move when it goes above the temp it is stuck at. Mine do anyway.

I tried going through Intel support and basicaly they mentioned I should talk to the software manufacturers and check for BIOS updates, far as they are concerned the chip is operating correctly & the chip will protect it's self in an event.

My e5200 idles around 33°. If I stress it, it will raise to about 55°, but never goes higher. So I think I may have a similar problem.

Same. Never goes above 55c. Although it will be fine under my cooler...so I don't really worry :P
Speedfan and Core Temp display different temps;
Core Temp idle: 33c and 29c
Speedfan idle: 38c and 34c

Mine display different too. As long as it passes prime and doesn't crash on me while playing games, I don't really care :D

Well, when i created this thread, mine was stuck at 38c.

Now it can go above 38c, But not Below it!

Best Regards.

That's the way mine works, or does'nt work, whichever way you want to look at it. Normally it reads 30deg on core 1 and 32 degrees on core 2 but when stressed it increases. Max i have seen is 41 degrees while priming at 3.6Ghz. Cpu fan was only at 900rpm though.

Funny thing is, the motherboards software for both the E8500 (DFI Smart guardian) and E5200 (Gigabyte Easy Tune 5) seem to read the temps correctly for the cpu's.

If it bothers you I can swap for a fully functional E6400.... It sits all day at 3.2ghz at default volts.. I just need a 45nm to undervolt for a HTPC so 2.5ghz is fine for me ;)

I returned a E8400 with stuck sensors and got a full refund, just explained that i wanted to cool it passively and needed to monitor tempratures.
Cant say where, got it from a competitor.

No problem - post your chip to me and as soon as it arrives I'll send you mine :D

I've been here a fair few years and have a reliable reputation and Trust rating.
