E5405 pre order?

Morning all.

My first processor question. I am oh so close to a PC upgrade. had my heart set on a Q6600. just browsing my options (looked at phenom etc) and spotted this:



just spotted it as it is the same price as the Q6600.

so, faster FSB, 6meg more cache, same price, no brainer?

but...what about the LGA771 socket fitting? i cant seem to find any boards that match?

just looking for pure power to price, no overclocking (my music software doesnt like it...word clocks etc need to stay nice and sync'd).

Its a Xeon server processor, although your right it can be used on the Skulltrail board.

yes I understand that.

will there be boards soon to support the chip? just seems a lot better than a std Q6600.

wonder how a 2 x quad would benchmark. off for a looky.
