Just installed a new Core2Duo setup in my rig, very sad to dismantle my old DFI LanParty NF4 Ultra-D and Opteron 144
but it makes sense to upgrade to Core2.
Anyway I have installed a E6300 and the AC7 with the stock thermal paste blowing out towards my papst 120mm exhaust fan. I have a Akasa 80mm intake fan at the front of the case.
My idle temperatures are currently showing as 36C (for both cores) in Speedfan. Coretemp 0.97 shows core 1 as 39C and core 2 as 36C.
Question is do I need to reseat the AC7 and remove the stock thermal paste and apply some AS5 to get lower idle temps ? or am I expecting to much from the AC7 ?
Want to get my temperatures right as stock before I begin O/Cing.
