E6300 ENGINEERING SAMPLE

its a stepping 4 es sample e6300 im planning sticking that in machine overclocking it to max and get a 8800gts 320mb stuck in aswell

I don't think they do.

Meatloaf bought an e6300 ES last week and it's not unlocked upwards.

ES's used to be unlocked, ES's used to be bought for INTEL mainly as p4's all had locked multipliers(later on extreme editions were finally unlocked). most of the time you want LOWER multipliers, which are unlocked anyway on conroe's. lower multi + higher bus speed = better performance, always has done.

fairly likely a full production 6300 would overclock better than an ES

ES

Ulocked multi

Steppings which set some tasty clocks when they first came out and some clocking better than any retial stuff

Better v core control

Better IHS contact and no warping

ES will vary to going up or down but that chip is down on the multi which is okay as means higer fsb

Also so bios updates early on locked es chips out

Stepping 4, if i remeber rightly is B4 and might be QLLO, clocked okay but the last ES ones which came imidatly after clocked way more being the B5and B6 is whats out now.

There has been a recent samll burt of newer ES Conroes as Conroe has had a stepping chnage of instructions or soemthing. B7 i think i read
