Using a fanless NT06-Lite heatsink on a not-overclocked (yet) E6300 inside a Lian Li V600 case, with the PSU fan directly above the cooler (about 0.5 cm gap between them). Getting temps (using Core Temp) of 34/35 degrees on both cores at idle. This seem ok? Was a bit wary about this being a fanless cooler, but seems to be holding together ok... for now... wondering what will happen if and when I OC it...

lol cant tell you anything with idle temps. We need to know load temps. Run orthos to stress the CPU. Use coretemp to monitor temps ;).

is the heatsink meant to be fanless? if it is, then you should be ok... you need to give the CPU something to do tho, like 1337z0r said. :)

OK, will run Orthos and see what I get. Thanks.

Out of interest, what kind of load does Orthos replicate? i.e do the max temps you get on an Orthos test represent what your system would be exposed to during a heavy gaming session or any other CPU/RAM intensive activity, or is it not really comparable? What is a good temp range to get on an Orthos test?

My E6300 sits at 34/35C idle @ stock using a Artic Freezing Pro 7. Im running 7x400mhz (2.8) with 45C Idle and 56C Load. Vcore = 1.25.
