I cbb to be a pioneer, so I'm asking, what sort of clocks are people doing? i.e. just the basic, vcore and fsb in bios settings. Cheers, also is making it a x6 multi pointless?

if you have DDR800 memory, then from my personal experience you're looking at a maximum of 3.15ghz. (1.275v / x2.0 memory divider / 7 x 450)

No idea what you can achive with faster memory though.

I've got pc6400 ddr2 800mhz 3 gigz of it. What is a safe vcore to get to 3gigz?

I had my E6300 running at 3.3ghz on an Asus P5N-E SLi. Can't remember the vCore exactly, but I don't think it was higher than 1.35v. It was an early model though and I think they clocked better.

@ FrostedNipple, the 65nm Core 2s will take 1.5vCore every day without harm. Above that it gets slowly more dangerous.

Ahh, ok thanks, that all i needed to know really, ill try get 3gigz now :p

I'm up at 3gigz and 62C idle, which imo is good, i cant see my ram going much further though :( i reckon 3.2 would be nice, I'm getting 20secs on super pi 1M on my old CPU at 3gigz i got 40secs, so this is well good compared with what I'm used to :D 458fsb should get me 3.2GHz, but also 900 ram, will be nice if the ram excepts it, ill whack a bit more voltage through the ram to make sure :p

My main CPU is still an E6300, hope to find its max pretty soon but its a very flexible chip. . .

1862MHz 1.100vCore
2331MHz 1.100vCore
2800MHz 1.200vCore
3150MHz 1.325vCore
3325MHz 1.3875vCore
3500MHz will test soon

E6300 is a great little chip, only downside is the super low multi so dropping it down below the max of 7 I would say is pretty pointless.

I have had this one up to a crazy 3584MHz (512*7) but that’s using PC6400 ram so no idea if it could do further and unfortunately because of the ram is wasn't stable but it did run super PI to show the speed :D

For a 24/7 overclock I use 3.3GHz which should be easily reachable on most of these chips.

Mine was pretty much on par with yours, always wonder whether to put it in now with my new loop, bet it would go as far as my ram would. as its main problem was it did start getting hot under air cooling.

my 6300 is @ 3ghz, 430x7, CPUZ shows 1.28V, RAM is at 1:1 so also 430, 55C idle 65Cish load

is a 4300 with the higher multi better ? or about the same. only ever been able to try mine in rubbish boards :(

My mate and I both had P5N-E SLi boards; I had an E6300 and he had an E4300. Most I managed out of mine was 3.4ghz; he got 3.6ghz out of his chip.

You might see more speed if you were using a better motherboard though.
