Hi guys,

My first post here, most def' not the last though!! LOL

Ive been offered a E6300 (SL9SA) with stock HSF for £60. Is this worth it and is it a worthy upgrade from my [email protected]??

The chap has had it OC'd to 3ghz stable (he says).

Thanks
Nick

Thanks for the reply, what makes these better than the E4300??? Which from what I can tell are good OC'ers, plus the 4300 are £10 more but new!

Nick

Ive just looked att he E6320 and will probably go for one of those tbh. Alright its £40 more but its new and with bigger cache.

does it not??
I thought that enabled it to store more info for quick access?? or am I way off about this??

Basically i was looking at the 4300, 6300 and now the 6320. There are very good results with the 4300 on my mobo (P5N-E SLi) plus its cheaper but the 6320 has the bigger cache (which doesnt do anything?).

Im dead confused!!!

My system is as follows atm:

[email protected] stock HSF
Asus P5N-E SLi
7600GS EXT OC
X-Fi Music sound card
2GB Geil DDR2 667
Enermax Noisetaker II
160GB seagate sata 2
TT Armor case
SilenX 120mm fans x2
SilenX 80mm fan x1

2mb or 4mb of cache doesnt make as much difference as 1mb (2140 and 2160) or 2mb of cache therefore i wouldnt pay too much more for 4mb of cache as opposed to two.:-

Go for the deal you have been offered imo.

Your mobo can hit high FSB so the x7 multi on the 6300 isnt a problem.

That'll do for me. Thanks guys, looks like ill be joining the C2D clan in the next couple of days then!!! :D :D

Thankyou very much for all your advice!!!

Get the E6300 for that price.

Had mine at 3.11ghz with some tinkering. Went to 2.8ghz as soon as I put it in on stock!!
